Strengthening Governance and Operational Frameworks

#

Since opening on 8 October 2017, Gungahlin Mosque has grown significantly in its activities, services and community responsibilities. As the Mosque continues to grow, the need for a clear, comprehensive and documented framework of policies, guidelines and operational procedures has become increasingly important.

The current CMC Executive Committee (EC) has therefore made strengthening governance a key priority. The EC is progressively developing and implementing policies and guidelines covering governance, financial accountability, Mosque operations, education, youth and community programs, Imam and staff responsibilities, child safeguarding, communications and facility use.

Our aim is to ensure that Gungahlin Mosque continues to serve the community within a framework of good governance, transparency, accountability, consistency and mutual respect, in accordance with the CMC Constitution and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

So far, the following key policies and guidelines have been developed and published on the Gungahlin Mosque website:

  • CMC Code of Conduct
  • GM Activities Management Policy
  • Friday Donation Collections Policy
  • Funeral Service Delivery Policy
  • GM Classroom Usage Policy
  • GM Children's Policy

The EC will continue to develop, implement and regularly review policies and guidelines as needed to support the effective, consistent, transparent and sustainable operation of Gungahlin Mosque, InshaAllah.
