Summary of today's Khutbah
In Sha Allah , in this khutbah we will reflect on the rights of the Qur’an upon us and our responsibility towards it. Based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah, we will briefly remind ourselves what Allah expects from us regarding the Qur’an — how we recite it, understand it, and act upon it in our daily lives.
Through this reminder, we will reflect upon ourselves and strive to fulfil the rights of the Qur’an as servants of Allah.
Allah said:
كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed so that they may reflect upon its verses and that people of understanding may take heed.”
Surah Ṣād: 29
The prophet (PHUH) said:
«اقْرَؤُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَفِيعًا لِأَصْحَابِهِ»
“Recite the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions.”
