First Khutbah at 12:45 PM - Raising Righteous Children in Australia (Continue) – Lessons from the Salaf-by Imam Hatem Saad
In today’s Australia, Muslim parents face both great opportunities and serious challenges in raising their children.
The Qur’an commands:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا
"O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire…" (66:6)
From peer pressure to harmful ideologies, children need guidance, love, and protection. History shows how great scholars like Imam Shafi‘i, Imam Malik, Abu Hanifa, and Ahmad ibn Hanbal were shaped by devoted parents who combined Islamic manners, Qur’an, and sacrifice.
Key steps for parents today:
- Strengthen Islamic identity from a young age.
- Make the home a place of Qur’an and salah.
- Be united as parents and connected to the masjid.
- Protect from harmful influences and offer halal alternatives.
- Lead by example — children imitate what they see.
Our children are an Amanah (trust) from Allah. The greatest gift we can give them is a strong faith, pure character, and a loving Islamic environment.
