Summary of today's Khutbah
On this blessed day of Jumu’ah, we reflect on how we prepare and honor this day.
Allah subhanaho wa ta’la says:
يا ايها الذين امنوا اذا نودي للصلاة من يوم الجمعة فاسعوا الى ذكر الله وذروا البيع (سورة الجمعة 62:9)
O believers! When the call for Friday prayer is made, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
من اغتسل يوم الجمعة ثم اتى فاستمع وانصت غفر له ما بينه وبين الجمعة الاخرى (رواه مسلم)
Whoever performs ghusl, attends Jumu’ah, listens attentively, his sins are forgiven until the next Friday.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمalso warned:
من ترك ثلاث جمع تهاونا بها طبع الله على قلبه (رواه ابو داود)
Whoever neglects three Jumu’ah prayers, Allah seals his heart.
