Summary of today's Khutbah
In this khutbah, we reflect on ourselves, are we living with gratitude or driven by greed?
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” (Qur’an 14:7)
Yet when greed enters the heart, barakah leaves our wealth. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Wealth is not in having many possessions, but true wealth is contentment of the soul.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
The Qur’an warns us through the story of those who withheld charity and lost everything (Surah al-Qalam). Quran teaches us this balance , gratitude brings increase, greed invites loss. Let us correct our hearts before Allah corrects our circumstances.
