2nd Khutbah
Summary of today's Khutbah
In this khutbah, we will reflect upon ourselves and learn how Islam teaches us to build a peaceful, loving, and successful marriage based on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Allah has taught us to seek refuge in Him by saying:
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً
“And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find tranquility in them,and He placed between you love and mercy.
Surah Ar-Rum .
The Prophet ( PBUH) said
خَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لِأَهْلِهِ، وَأَنَا خَيْرُكُمْ لِأَهْلى
“The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best among you to my family.
Sunan al-Tirmidhi
Marriage requires patience, understanding, mercy, and mutual respect. There should be no arrogance, competition, victory, or defeat between husband and wife. rather, cooperation upon love, compassion, and growing together for the sake of Allah.
