Summary of today's Khutbah
In this khutbah, we will reflect on a clear sign of strong faith. A believer with strong faith controls his tongue and turns away from what does not concern him. He does not busy himself with unnecessary talk, useless arguments, gossip, or matters that bring no benefit to his religion or his character. When faith is strong, the heart remains focused on what pleases Allah.
Allah describes the successful believers and says:
“Successful indeed are the believers… those who turn away from useless speech.”
(Qur’an 23:1–3)
The Prophet ﷺ taught us this clear principle when he said:
“From the perfection of a person’s Islam is leaving what does not concern him.”
(Tirmidhi)
This hadith reminds us that strong faith is shown through self-control, wisdom, and focus.
Let us reflect on ourselves: are we busy with what pleases Allah, or with what does not concern us?
