Protecting Honour, Standing for Justice, and Avoiding Rumours - by Imam Hatem Saad

First Khutbah
Summary of today's Khutbah

Islam teaches us to protect people's honour, verify information, and never accuse others without reliable evidence. Rumours, suspicion, and false accusations can destroy relationships, families, and communities.

Allah says:

“O believers! If an evildoer brings you news, verify it.” (Qur’an 49:6)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“It is enough for a person to be considered a liar that he narrates everything he hears.” (Sahih Muslim)

As Muslims, we must avoid spreading rumours, uphold justice, protect people's dignity, support those facing hardship, and promote unity within our community.

Let us protect honour, not spread suspicion; stand for justice, not division; and build bridges, not hatred.
