Gungahlin Mosque Distributes Qurban Meat to Over 60 Families in Need

Gungahlin Mosque Food Pantry Team

The Gungahlin Mosque Food Pantry Team, in a compassionate community effort, distributed Qurban meats and foodstuff to 61 local families, benefiting a total of 261 individuals this past Saturday. The distribution, which commenced after the Duhr (midday) prayers at the mosque, was made possible through community donations of Qurban meats, supplemented by food supplies from AusGive 'Charity for Humanity'.

The initiative highlights the mosque's ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community, a core tenet of its Gungahlin Mosque Food Pantry program. The team regularly provides essential support, including free hot meals and non-perishable food items, to those facing hardship.

The distribution of Qurban meat holds special significance in Islam, as it is part of the observance of Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice. This event at the Gungahlin Mosque exemplifies this spirit of giving, ensuring that families in need can partake in the blessings of Eid. The collaboration with AusGive 'Charity for Humanity' underscores the importance of partnership in addressing food insecurity within the community.
